WGC is one of the country’s leading cleaning companies, working for clients ranging from hotels to hospitals and restaurants to retail outlets.

A successful business, working in an expanding industry, it has a multi-million pound turnover and employs almost 2,000 people.

As the company continued to expand the financial infrastructure needed more support. The need to extract accurate management information from the accounting records was critical. Martin Birch, the company’s Managing Director, decided to call in specialists.

Artaius came from a highly recommended source that was fully aware of their capabilities. In the beginning Artaius had to inject huge amounts of time and energy in creating a platform where by reliable management information could be produced.

3 years later, Artaius are now an essential part of the WGC Group’s financial structure providing monthly management accounts. Sally Davidson, one of the Artaius Senior accountants, is actively involved in the monthly preparation of the management accounts whilst Melanie Troiano, oversees the overall client relationship and is involved in strategic planning and forecasting.

WGC is continuing to expand its operations nationwide and Artaius have been asked to become involved in more detailed financial reporting including the creation of a contract analysis/productivity system to ensure that the company’s profitability remains on track.
